Project Details: Design of upgrades to the community’s facultative lagoons to convert them to aerated with UV disinfection. This has proved to be a very cost effective solution to the community’s wastewater disposal requirements costing $1.4M compared to previously contemplated mechanical plant options costing $8.0M. The project includes a Class EA (Sched. C) assessment and an assimilative capacity study. A detailed investigation of the capacity of the lagoon to enhance its nitrification performance and to treat septage issued from the County of Peterborough was carried out. | |
